It’s amazing how becoming a parent can change you. From the person you once were – having no actual responsibilities other than making sure you show up to work on time – to becoming this person who is responsible for the SAFETY and WELL-BEING of a whole other person. This is scary right? Or is it just me?
There are a few things I do wish I’d known prior to having Logan because I feel like I could have been better prepared. Oh, who am I kidding? NOTHING can prepare you for motherhood! Be it as it may, here are a few things I’d like to share with you anyway…
To my sweet baby boy, Logan.
I cannot believe 6 months has flown by. It still feels like you were in my tummy yesterday and here you are, celebrating 6 months of living life!
I am overjoyed that I have been chosen to be your mother. Me. Little old Dianne. That I get to wake up to your smiling face every day is absolutely everything. You are such an amazing little boy and you fill our hearts with so much joy. You are the epitome of love. A true reflection. Read More
Isn’t motherhood great? Your body goes from functioning on 8-10 hours of uninterrupted sleep, to less than 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep (if you’re lucky) with a bunch of power naps until night time and you get to go through this whole sleep deprivation thing again.
When I was pregnant, people would tell me “make sure to get enough sleep now while you still can”, which made me want to punch them in the face. None the less I did. (Sleep, not punch them in the face.) But even with the solid 12 hours of sleep a day during the last 4-6 weeks before Logan came, somehow I am now still tired? Eh I must have understood them wrong. I thought the hours would accumulate and when baby is here and I am super tired, I just cash in on like 6 hours and suddenly I have this jolt of energy.
I know that as soon as 30 weeks come along, a photo shoot is the last thing on your mind. With my maternity shoot I was about 32 weeks pregnant with swollen feet, a few extra kilograms accompanying me and sweating all. the. damn. time! Lucky for me our photographer was absolutely amazing and knew exactly how to pose me to make sure I look fabulous!
